Seems I'm getting an error when people click on the link to read the latest new bulletin from the forum:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.0.45-log]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '.`tblNPNewsletter` SET RSS_views=1 WHERE (RSS_views=0 )' at line 1

/NewsPad/rss_view_newsletter.asp, line 109

I've actually had several other errors related to the database, some of which I've figured out, and some of which needed to be changed from driver=mysql to point to the odbc driver. Like I said, earlier, a bit strange because I've never had any of these issues with the forum, and it's running off the same Godaddy server.

This issue does effect some mySQL installation and we are trying to find a fix.

If you can I would recommend using SQL Server instead as it runs much better with ASP.

mySQL is a good database but it is let down when using with ASP or ASP.NET as the myODBC driver which has to be used for ASP to talk to a mySQL database is very buggy.

Hi Bruce,

I don't have anymore SQL server database in my account. Your answer seems a little odd since the forums run fine with mySQL, and I have several mySQL databases on my site, and don't have any issues. I mean, I believe you that it may be buggy, but really the only place I've ever had issues is with this Newspad program. Never had any other issues with the 7 other scripts I use with ASP, my server, and mySQL.

Is there some work around I can put in for now, because my site is live, and has many members, and this just looks a bit un-professional.

Thanks.

You should raise a support ticket so that it can be looked into
