Sounds like the database is not made correctly.

Try deleting the database and re-running the SQL server setup script.

Ok, will delete all that stuff and try again, but why would it have not been made correctly in the first place. I am installing it on my local machine at the moment and have used these setting: Do they look OK? cheers

strSQLServerName = "JAMESDELL\JAMESDELL" 'Holds the name of the SQL Server
strSQLDBUserName = "eaglemus" 'Holds the user name (for SQL Server Authentication)
strSQLDBPassword = "banjo" 'Holds the password (for SQL Server Authentication)
strSQLDBName = "Easymusicshop"     'Holds name of a database on the server

Did the setup script return an error?

It could also be a permissions problem that you don't have sufficient permissions on the SQL server to create table, stored procedures, etc. or run these.

Also make sure if you have changed the table and stored procedure pre-fixes that you have done this in the SQL server setup file and the common.asp files.

After I added a new database username and password and applied what i thought were the correct permissions, then ran the set up, no errors were encountered, although I had tried unsuccessfully before.

It pulled a up a page saying successfully installed ... or something.

After it says that which is the next page you should go to, to configure as there was not a link?

Do you know the exact permissions I would need to give in sql server, why would it create some tables and sp's and not others ???

I know sql can be fiddly but i'm No expert... Thanks

Just try installing it again, run the sql setup file, once done go to the forum and it should work, if not then there is something wrong in your setup or you have some corrupted files. You'll just ahve to keep trying to you get it right as most people find it installs without any problem.

usually any problems are down to corrupted files or incorrect setup of server or database.
