I have tried searching the forums but could not find a post about it.

I am building a blog into a specific forum and i do not want it to show the "edited by" message if someone edits the post because this would obliously add this text to the blog as well.

Is there a way to disable this from showing ?

You can disable the adding of the 'edited by' text by disabling it in the admin area in the forum configuration page.
