Just a few small wishes i've come across while upgrading - I couldn't find the v10 feature requests but in any case i guess it's too late...
Advanced Search - Search Entire Category
When performing an advanced search, selecting a CATEGORY should be allowed - this will automatically search all forums contained within the category. For the sake of usability, it would be nice if selecting the category gave a visible indication that all contained forums would be searched (highlight all contained forums?)
I am aware that control/shift click or click & drag selects multiple forums, but this is not an optimal solution for a category with many forums.
Admin - Custom message for Locked Forum.
It would be great if there was a message pad ability connected to the Lock Forums tool instead of the current standard text. BBCODES should be allowed here too, for example so that links can be embedded directing the visitor to a new or upgraded forum at a different location.
Usability - Reverse Sort order
It's unintuitive that clicking a highlighted column header will only sort in the 'default' way, and clicking a small down-arrow to the right is the only way to reverse. Ideally the column heading hyperlink should be a toggle switch allowing you to sort either way, and the up/down arrow should only be an indicator of the current sort direction (for the sake of neat layout, the arrow should only be visible from the first time the default sort order has been modified).

Another comment on the column headings and sort order - the default sort order for "Registered" and "Last Active" in the member list , and for "Replies" and "Views" in the forums, should all default to most recent/most views first.
Today the default sort order is 'Oldest' and 'Fewest' which unlikely to be what most users want!

the Default ordering system for Forums should remain the Last Post Date, and the Memberlist should be ordered Alphabetlically. Just as it already is. A few people used to the older style threaded discussions forums do like to have posts order by the last first in reverse order, so this has already been added an admin option to version 10, although user can still override this themselves by clicking the heading column. To clarify, I did not mean to change either pages default view when you enter the page, I meant to change the default first sort order when clicking these column headings. Yes, I'm capable of changing the default sort order - but I can guarantee that 99.9% of people who click the "Registered" or "Last Active" columns do so only to find the most recent, not the oldest, so the default behaviour today of an 'ascending' sort is not a helpful default! The same must be true for Views / Replies, even if maybe not to 99.9%... Today it takes 2 clicks for me to sort by any of these columns to find the information i'm after (most recent xxxxx, most xxxx). If the majority want to sort by oldest and fewest, thats fine too... but unlikely! |

I can see your point, the reason why when clicking on headings the order is sorted ascending is that it is common practice with most software to have it in ascending order.

Mods I would like to see
1 ) Google sitemap script which will create sitemap.xml file with Printer Friendly Pages.
2) Build a MOD by which either Mod and Admin can insert thier comments in a small box that appears on the post as Administrative comment .

I think #1 and #3 are already available. though #3 might be from V8, not sure. As for Timezones, i dont think this would be possible and im sure ive read comments from Bruce on this too. It can be done in ASP.NET, but with ASP VBscript the only time available is that set for the server, so the time-offset has to be done from the server time not from UTC or GMT. Sitemap link is broken for so long that I kind of gave up on it.
It would have been nice if StarDust either provides us the files here by zipping them so that at least members can use it rather than clicking on the link which is not existing.

Unfortunately Link is Broken as it was too long ago that these files were uploaded via file sharing sites.
 Same is true for Google Sitemap Script
 .Isn't it a good idea to have all the MODS' here as part of this website instead of file sharing websites.
Thre are some wonderful MODS that are present in 8.X version. I wish they are available for 9.X also.
I appreciate if someone who has the copy of thanks MOD can share it here with us.
