Launched our new forum just days ago and have no "members" yet, that are outside of our small in-house circle. We are behind a firewall that would probably appear as a single IP address to the server software.

Here's the glitch...

Although we have setup individual accounts, when we're logged on to these, on seperate computers, at the same time, you only see yourself in the "Active Users" list. Is that possibly because of our shared gateway address, or, is something else buggered up? Without external members yet, we're not sure if the "Active Users" function is broken, or that maybe our shared gateway may be causing this. We definitely have "Active Users" ON in the Admin area. Any ideas on what we're experiencing?

If you share the same IP address as my missus and I do, then you will only ever see yourself as being logged in, even if others within your circle are online too. It is frustrating as such, but thats because you are probably sharing the same IP

WWF uses the IP address to track single users in Active Users, since there is no other way for Active Users to track individual uses.

Because of this each time someone loads a page its updating the record with the reference of the IP matching theres with their details - hense they only see them selfs.

I dont think there is anyway around this as there is no way to track one user from the next (cookies wouldnt work as its not the for the user, its for the server.)
