I know this is probably illegal somewhere, but is there any way we can block Russian spammers with the email country suffix (.ru) who manually register on our Forum? It is so time consuming deleting them one by one. We get the odd one or two with other country suffixes, but by far the biggest number come from Russia.

Our Forum is quite specialised and we do not expect any legitimate Russian participation, but boy do they love to sell us all their prescription drugs, cheap cigarettes, sex toys etc

If you have email activation enabled use the Email Address blocking in the admin area and enter the following:-

*.ru

I've not tested it myself, but it should work.

Also as well particular IP ranges are usually set for a country. So if the IP range is common between all or allot of them you could block that as well in the IP Blocking section.

The '81.177.xxx.xxx range seems to be a common Russian IP range so you could use the following to block users of that IP range:-

81.177.*

Bruce

Many thanks for the tips. I've just entered them both in my Admin area and will see what happens.
