Subject: Date Format Problem

I've been running webwiz for a few weeks now and our users love it. Their only gripe is the default date format. Us silly americans have grown use to the mm/dd/yyyy format.  I set this as the default in the admin panel, but it still defaults to dd/mm/yyyy. If the user sets their own preference in the member control panel it works fine, but
it defaults to dd/mm/yyyy for them.

I would really like to set the default to mm/dd/yyyy so that all 900 of our users do not have to go set the preference manually.

Any ideas as to why it will not change? or how to make the users default to mm/dd/yyyy?

I know I have seen this somewhere before but I can't find it at the moment. However, whilst your users may mostly be from the states, there may be "others" who want to join who perhaps do not like the mm/dd/yyyy format

I'm sure someone else will answer your point though who does know what file to alter

If you change the default date to mm/dd/yyyy format in the admin area this will not change it for users who are already registered as they would need to choose their own date format from their forum profile.

It will change the default date to mm/dd/yyyy for those people not logged in and for new signups who's default date settings would be set to that in the admin area unless they override them by setting their own date format.

I have the default date setting in the admin panel as mm/dd/yyyy but new users are still defaulting to dd/mm/yyyy.

Is it possible that this is because I'm using the AD mod? I'll go look through the code and see if I can figure it out.

It could be because of that as new users are created differently when using AD

Thats exactly what the issue was.

If anyone else is using the AD mod and has this problem..
