If I were you... I would make is so that the site can not be opend to the public.. and that you make sure that everyone has to log in and have their status changed before they can post.. you can set all your users to have access but have it to where they can type new topic clicked off until you change their status

Do not allow Guests to post.

Email activation of new membership is also very effective at preventing spammers from signing up.

Its the guest account thy use..
yeahh i know if i turn off guest access it can solve the problems.

But i think its like some audo submit things making the posts, and beating the securty code.
i really want to keep the Gues access, but just stop the spamming from Bots..

If you upgrade to 9.50 it uses the new Web Wiz CAPTCHA which produces unique security images on the fly. You can also adjust the level of noise you have with it. If that doesn' stop them then it's more likely being done by a human.

You have to remember that allot of porn companies now employ slave labour paid $1 to fill in CAPTCHA codes. They have automated bots to do the rest of the form and the person just fills in the CAPTCHA part.

You could try using the CAPTCHA_image.asp file from version 9.50 with version 8.

These is no guarantee it would work with version 8, but I can't see why it wouldn't.

Spamming can be really annoying. Can you not perhaps add certain words to the bad word filter so when these people type say "for free porn" it actually says "for free "something else"
Apart from Bruces suggestion I haven't anything helpful to suggest, but removing Guest Accounts be allowed to post would be a great step

By all means allow them to view your forums, but I don't let guests post. That would be a nightmare

You may also want to look at banning the IP addresses or ranges of the spammers.

If spam is coming from a particular country, then if you have a look at the pro tools on dnsstuff.com you can findout which IP addresses are from a certain country and then ban that country from accessing your forum.
