I was trying to create a left sidebar on my site. I modified the header file and created a sidebar, but I also wanted the main body container to stay within the pixel %'s (not sure of correct terminology here).

Here's a test file of my site, and any suggestions appreciated:

I'm not sure how to re-structure this, but maybe you could have your links at the top of the page, so it doesn't push your forum off the screen

I followed the instructions from s2h.co.uk and ended up easily putting sidebars on both sides.  http://www.arlingtonheights.org - http://www.arlingtonheights.org

Thanks for the response... that code actually doesn't work. It just keeps things within the header, and pushes everything else off the page. I appreciate the effort though.

You are using some javascript though to add the left bar as well right? I peaked at your header file. I didn't see any of these kinds of instructions on the s2h site. Is there a link somewhere else you could point me to?

The tutorial on my website may need updating as it was wrote for V8 (though should be perfectly fine for V9 as well).

If you could tell me what is wrong with it, I will then update the tutorial for V9.

However the tutorial should not be used as a simple "Copy and Paste", it does require basic HTML knowledge to customise it to look the way you want.

I am currently developing a Mod that will display the forum links in a side bar and will utilise the forums skin. Just needs testing and some language variables added, but will then be Released.

Well, maybe I'm not understanding exactly what you're trying to instruct people to do. I'd assume that if someone wants links on the left, that they'd want that in context to having the forum still appear on the their screen. Not sure you'd want it any other way, so if this is the case, then you'd need to at least float the links on the left.

I was looking to add sidebars on both sides, and I have most of it figured out, but couldn't get it to format 100%, so not I'm paying someone to do it. When they complete, I'll put info up here if anyone else is interested.

Im sorry, but i still dont understand what the actual problem is.

As I said, to have links on the side you will need a basic knowledge of HTML.

For example, you need to know HTML to add the actual links into the code.

please explain exactly what it is you are trying to do and where the problem is.
