_popupControl(); Hello Bruce

As you may remember, we ( http://www.allempires.net - www.allempires.net ) implemented Ad Sense a week back.
After consulting the Google help forum for possible Ad Sense TOS violations (they are strict on this), it appears that there indeed is a problem.
Ads may NOT be displayed on non-content pages. Here is a little excerpt from the forum:
> All our pages are content (me)

Ummmmm, no, all your pages are not content pages, your login page is
not a content page and displaying ads on it is a violation of the TOS,
as is the registration page...as could be the pages in which you post
a reply...

> the top of the page is a header that is displayed on all pages.

I know the header is an include that is displayed on all pages, so you
will need to put some sort of conditional around it to not display
that code on specific pages, you could be banned for it...it's a
hassle, but it is a TOS violation.

Can you se an easy solution to this? - they ban people right and left for TOS violations, and once banned, there is no return.

Thanks,
~ Northman

There are 1000's of forums running google ads in Web Wiz Forums under our own account from the old adware version we had and never once had this issue or heard of anyone being banned for this or any complaints from Google for displaying the ads on these types of pages.

What they are hot on is if you have things in your pages saying things like 'Click on the Ads', or if you have undesirable content such as porn. If you have this type of content then they do send emails threatening to close the account (have had lots from the old adware version of Web Wiz Forums), tend though to ignore the emails and Google just block the site from displaying the ads.

Trying to prevent the Google Ads from displaying on login pages would be very difficult as the forum detects if you are not logged in and displays login forms on mutiple pages, so modifying the software would take many hours of work.

Thank you Bruce

Yes, I understand - but apparently they remove the ads without warning these days if they spot a violation.
Hmmm....   maybe I'm too paranoid, but reading their forum is not very reassuring... Shocked
