I have neve been able to get the avatar upload to function. My last try I get this server error:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while uploading file/image.
Please check the Asp Smart Upload Component is installed on the server.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_create_AspSmartUpload_object
File Name:- functions_upload.asp

Error details:-
Server object
006~ASP 0177~Server.CreateObject Failed~Invalid ProgID. For additional information specific to this message please visit the Microsoft Online Support site located at: http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp - http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp .

I have limited access to the server itself (seperate host) so I went with what I think is a stand alone asp (no dll required to be put on the server) aspsmartupload. Please explain this error.

All the upload settings on the forum REQUIRE a upload component.

That error means the asp component you selected is not installed on the server.

Ask the Admin on the forums you are going to.. to Chage the uploader.. might need to put it as a different uploader.. The server that is hosting the forums might not have a default uploader that the forums use.. might want to ask your admin to change the settings..
