Due to a corruption in some of the zip files for the 9.52 release the files have been repackaged and released as version 9.53.

If you experience issues with your 9.52 version please upgrade to this new release.

I installed 9.52 SQL SERVER with no apparent problems...is the problem very obvious...is my installation ok?

The issue seems to effect some installations and not others were characters are replaced with '<'

However, 953 also sorts out an image and file upload bug, so is worth upgrading.

I seem to be getting a big white block at the bottom of Active Topics, but not on every page load though...

It's as if it stops loading after the emotive-designs footer...any ideas?  My laptop is about to die before looking into it...

This is more likely a server issue, as at the moment your site seems to be OK

As stated at the top of this topic. If you have a support issue then you need to start a new topic on it and give as much detail as possible.

Hello, sounds like it's worth upgrading to the new version. Is there any documentation on how to run an upgrade. I have a pretty established forum and can't afford a crash. Also wondering if I can back the old software up before I upgrade.

Thx,
Dave

EDIT: I am running the MS SQL version

Diveboard,
This topic has been covered plenty of times.. depending on what version you are running will also have some play with it also.. Here is a Link that might help you out with it.. other than that look and the Release files and copy them over..

Make sure once again that you back up all files before trying to upgrade

Diveboard,

The way I did it was to (after backing up) convert the DB to v9 etc, and upload the v9 files into another subfolder.  This allowed me to test the new forum, make any changes I needed, then migrate within a matter of minutes.

However, before I did the above, I cloned the database, and tested that once upgraded, the database could still be used on your old version as well!

I have a Safari user complaining of weird characters added to his posts with the newest version.

I copied and pasted his statement below.

Okay, this new version sucks for Safari.  Every post I make from my Mac has those funny characters.

This appears to be an character encoding issue with their browser.

If they can't fix it you should suggest that they edit their profile and disable the WYSIWYG Editor.
