Upgraded from 9.51 to 9.53.

If I create a new post and add a 'Message Icon' I get:

This is an issue with MSSQL 2005. It happened to me personally after upgrading from SQL 2000 to 2005, and with a help from a http://support.microsoft.com/kb/269495 - Microsoft Article , I got it fixed. This process involves editing the registry.

Doug, ok so it is not just SQL 2005, it apparently affects both versions (2000/2005)... you just need to edit the value to the one on the microsoft site per the link i posted earlier:

I wonder if Bruce or the rest of the WebWiz team have a different way of fixing it...

Did you download this version while we had the zip file corruption?

If so try downloading the forum again and reinstall it and see if that fixes the issue.

The corruption was in one of the files in the functions folder.

Hi, me again with the same issue as above.  I checked the suggestion out as best I ubderstood it but my reg entry seems to be correct as described.  Due to the first problem I had caused by the corrupted zip file I had reinstalled it all.

I have seen the error above but what is happening to me now is that upon posting a new topic and then going in to edit and choosing a message icon I am getting a 'this webpage cannot be displayed error' and the update fails.. any ideas?

The registry entry MIGHT be a cause however, I would install a new test database and new asp files for testing and if they work I would look for the difference between your test and live setup....probably starting with the database which you may not have upgraded right from an earlier version.

Check if a clean install works...

Follow up to previous post.  Trying to add a message icon whilst creating a new post fails with the sql error message as first described, once posted without an icon a subsequent attempt to edit and add an icon generates the webpage error message as above

If he didnt get the error with 9.51 database, why would he get the error with 9.53 if there are no database changes?

From reading the release notes, its just updates to the web pages themselves if you are doing 9.51 to 9.53 as he is doing.

This exact error will happen with the original corrupted download of 9.53.

It has nothing to do with the database.

If you redownload 9.53 and replace all your files with those from the download today it will fix this issue.

Hi,
Has there been another update of the download?  it is just that I already downloaded the version after the corrupted zip file had been fixed and replaced all my original files just over a week ago..

I don't recall the exact timing, but if you are getting this error the fix is as I have stated previously.
