Has anyone done a Chat System / Web Wiz Integration?  If so I'd be interested in it.

A site claims to have created a shoutbox but how good it is, or whether it works okay, is your choice

For a chatroom you can use

http://www.aspchatnow.com/ - ASP ChatNow - though im not sure what state it is in now.

http://www.theill.com/asp/conquerchat.asp - Conquer Chat - Which ive used in the past.

For Conquer Chat to work, all you need to do is add a link in your status_bar_inc.asp file.
You can also get it to use the persons username.

I wonder if there's a way for Conquer Chat to store the chat as a topic(s) in a dedicated forum...any takers to create a mod for this LOL

Just downloaded Conquer Chat, and it looks as though messages can be stored in a log file, and possibly a database as well...?  If it can be stored in a database, I wonder if there's a way to store it in MSSQL instead of MS Access...then pull the messages out and display in the forum?

1) Would that be the forums fonts/colours attributes or CC's?

2) post the error you are getting otherwise we're just shooting in the dark.

I've been using  Conquer Chat for several years. Recently with the web browser date we are getting some strange problems.  When somebody sends a message all users are suspended form submitting, you have to click back on the message line the continue typing.

I installed the chat by modifing wwf nav bar and included a check for permissions.  If your in the "subscriber" group you will get the chat URL in the nav bar.  I then read the wwf cookie for user name and passed the variable into the login for Conquer Chat.  Users can override the name by typing over it but most just accept the name and contiune.

Over all for a free chat it works fine.  Does get slow when you have 10 to 15 users.

But your forum is running 8.04.
I had my previous 7.x also working with that same chat-mod.

Is there a way to port that chat-mod to use with 9.x?

What link do I have to add? And how do I get it to use the persons username?

To "auto login" to Conquer Chat you just link like so:

/*path-to-chat*/default.asp?mode=userLogin&username=<%=strLoggedInUsername%>

It may be best to use a pop up window, so you could do:

javascript:winOpener('/*path-to-chat*/default.asp?mode=userLogin&username=<%=strLoggedInUsername%>','chat',1,1,600,400)

It would also be best to limit the link for members only.
