When a user posts into the wrong forum, I like to move the post into the corect one before replying.

When I reply, I notice that there is a different tid (topic id) in the moved post.

Will the user get an email to go to the update topic id for my response or what will happen? I assume if they go to the old topic id then their post will not be found.

I want to move the post but I don't know the consequences of doing this.

It will jsut move the Post in the Section that you would like it in.. there is a Button on there that will have a "Show Moved Post" it will let everyone know that the topic has been relocated.. you can also move the post and then post something after it and will show it a an active post...
