I have a web site I maintain for a client in England. It is hosted on Streamline.net, and we have a Web Wiz forum. The web site is http://www.unifiedtheory.org.uk - www.unifiedtheory.org.uk . When I first installed the forum back in 2005 or 6, it was hacked by some Turkish dorks. So I created a new directory off the root and put the database there. All according to the specs, and it worked fine. Naturally, I didn't ever back up the database to my local drive.

A couple of weeks ago, for reasons that don't much matter, my client forgot to renew his Streamline account and they deleted everything from their servers. We renewed it and I reloaded the web site and the forum. The web site works fine. The forum is buggered. I expected the Access database to be old, but the problem seems to be with CAPTCHA. It keeps telling me I entered the wrong code. I know I didn't. But I can't log on as administrator to set things up in the forum.

I installed the newest version of Web Wiz, but no joy. Any ideas?

The issue may be did you run the database upgrade tools first? You mention the old forum, then installing the new version. There are a few different versions and it could be that that is causing the problems too

I can actually see the old forum, but not the new one

This probably should go in the Support forum.

Thanks, TWS. Sometimes, even at my advanced age, I need someone to give my head a shake and point me in the direction of the obvious. All fixed now.
