Hello:
I cannot find instructions regarding upgrading to the newest version.  Checked knowledgebase and forums.  I feel I am missing the obvious.   Do you replace just the files in the forums folder, but not the sub folders?  Seems the subfolders contain the users mods and preserving them retains the mods.  Is this correct?  Seems this would be a good knowledgebase article.

Thank you,

Wayne G.

Wayne,
Most people download the Free Edition of the latest WWF.. then they transfer the files over through a FTP and override the files that are already in there.. since there are new fixes on the newer software.. in alot of the cases you can check the Notes that are provided on what files have been updated and you can just transfer those files over instead of the whole thing...

My First suggestion to you would be to create a backup before you do anything to ensure you have everything up to date on your forums right now.. then proceed to the next step

Here is a Link to the Notes for you http://www.webwiz.net/webwizforums/kb/release_notes.asp - http://www.webwiz.net/webwizforums/kb/release_notes.asp

Just to add Wayne (in addition to what Putz has said) my only differing advice would be:

Obviously backup first but I personally think its better to re-upload the whole software, rather than pick the files mentioned in the release notes. I'm not suggesting that the release notes are not accurate, but if you upload the forum software as a "complete" upgrade, then at least you pretty much guaranteed to have it all right from step 1 Wink
