I am a new site owner and would like to know how do we download/upload custom banners and skins to our new forums if it's hosted by Web Wiz? And where do we find other skins for our forums?

There are actually all kinds of help in these forums if you need it.. just need to search a little bit and you will find out all kinds of good stuff on skins.. here is a helpful post that you might want to consider

Also here is the Main Forum Category to some help with your skins

Banners you can use direct links to host your banner on the forums.. you will need to go into the Admin Section of the forums and look under the Forum Skin Section...

Thanks Putz. I had a problem navigating through those links. I didn't see a whole bunch of options but I will look again. Can we add chat to our forums also?

I tried to use a direct link to host my banner and it cut off the jpg of the file name. How do I fix that?

You should contact support through your client area account for them to have a look at the issue. You should also include the name of the banner image you are trying to add.

I went there and I only see the option of paying 99$ for one question. I think that's BS.

When you setup an account with web wiz hosting, you should receive the necessary information telling you how to FTP (upload) banners, etc
You would need an http://filezilla-project.org/ - FTP client and Filezilla is a FREE choice and quite good at taking care of that. As for banners, custom logos etc, skins, then apart from the 4 skin choices you would then have to look at the skins directory or I believe putz gave you some links too Wink

As a new site owner you will find many useful questions and answers within these forums

Wow life would be so much less work if it was $99 for one support question. If only.

If you have a hosting account with us like you do you get free email and phone support for the life of your hosting account. You need to go to the Hosting Support section in your Client Area account.

For those who purchased a Web Wiz Forums license (not a hosted solution) they come with 1 years free email support. This is through the Software Support Section of the Client Area account.

The $99 is charged for those who require Premium Phone support for software and is for as many questions as you like for 1 year. As you have a hosting account with us you already get the same level of support, this through your Hosting Support section of your Client Area account.

Where is the skins directory? I went to the links Putz posted and I didn't see a lot of options. I surfed those links for over an hour. I only saw two different skins. I must've missed something.

I'm sorry that I mis-explained what I meant. http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_topics.asp?FID=26 - This link is what I referred to, but there are forum members who have created some good looking skin choices too, including myself, and I'm sure others on these forums have dabbled with creating skins too

http://www.thisworldsucks.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=210 - View some TWS choices

Sorry for making you search for an hour - I do that most days Wink

The Links that I gave you is help trying to create some skins... and how they work.. you might want to get ahold of MrTWS.. and see if he is willing to let you use some of his skins that he has already created.. That is his choice though since he is the author you will have to get his permission to use his skins..   He might accept a Donation for one that he can custom build for you..

Where do I find my images and skins after I upload them to the FTP site? I can't find them in my admin control panel. What am I doing wrong?

Where is the index page in FTP? I saw index.asp but that didn't give me what I wanted. I wanted to add an invisible counter to my forum and they say I have to post it to the index.html file.

I read everything in the directory. I couldn't find anything to help me.
