Ok, simple question.  Can the security of the forum logins be used to secure the website, and or, can the database login offered here have a registration for to accompany it?

Also, can the guest of the forum be deleted so there is a stricter access applied to the forum?

Thanks

You may be able to use the login for the forum in your own site but it would take allot of coding on your part.

The guest account can't be deleted or many functions of the forum will fail to run. But you can simply setup forums to not allow read access for the guests, that way only registered logged in users can view forums.

curious, how much coding of the asp scipts are required?

i pulled down the Database login script that you have on here, but it has no registration like the forum and the security that the forum offers

Its not really that bad.

The potential complication is the fact that there are unlimited groups available. So you can either figure out a really sweet code to check pages for access based on group membership (like the forum membership permissions checks) OR you can put in some "simple" if then statements to check for membership. However, if you use the "simple" method, then anytime you add a new group you have to hard code the check into each protected page that the group will need access.

You could then use the forum login for a website login page. I did this with v6.34 and it wasn't too hard just take a look at the board coding and hack around.
