Hey all

I have an issue with my clean install of WWF im finding that my sessions within the admin section are being cleared down in some instances within seconds. making it impossible to actually create the forums.

i have managed to lock the forum down so no one else can use just yet but even creating the categories it seems to do it meaning im having seconds to create anything... i havent been able to test to see what a user might experience because i cant even creat a forum for a user to create.

after a unset period of time (less then a minute usually) i just get kicked out saying i need admin rights. The forum is installed on plesk (dailyRazor) hosting and the database is being shared with umbraco cms apart from that they each have there own web.configs and no other quirky setup thing have been done on there.

has anyone else had these issues is there something im missing?? is it a plesk setting?

Your Application pool is being recycled... probably do to another script, not enough server memory (overloaded?), a really small Application Pool memory setting, or a really fast recycle setting.

Also make sure that the application pool has not been set to use multiple worker processes.

Hi, i have the same issue on shared hosting server.
If there is any workaround, like using a session state server or some?

You can edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file and change it so that your forum sessions are stored in the database.

However, you should contact your web host and get them to sort the issue, as the above workaround does slow down your forum and should certainly never be used if using an Access database as the number of database read and writes required for this would course Access to trip over.

Problem solved thanks muchly! Problem was also compounded by where I was accessing the forums from; Dual Broadband routers confuse the forum by thinking two seperate IP's have been accessing the forum. Essentially this was creating two sessions on the forums.

but making this change meant I could browse forums and manage the admin sections of the site without being bounced out after 20 seconds or so.

Thanks All
