Hey All,

I don't frequent this forum but I have a busy Web Wiz forum at my site! Please forgive me if this topic has been discussed...

Did anyone experience a problem on 01/01? I had over 5,000 members who took the default birthday of 1/1/1900. I also display birthdays on my site. Yikes did my site take a hit on 1/1!! It tried to display all 5000 names. The forums were timing out until I figured it out.

It was a pretty easy fix but I was just curious if anyone else came across this....

Jen

It depends also on what version of WWF you are using as well.. some of the older forums are not up to date with the current Databases.. and since you have alot of your members using the default date that could have been your problem.. you might want to update your forum to the newest installment.. as it hold more and better resources on the Database

I don't have the latest release but I do have version 9 - upgraded last May. Still better resources isn't going to help when you are trying to list 5000 member names.

If no one else is having the problem, maybe I defaulted to 1/1/1900 in import. I can check on this....

Web Wiz Forums does not have a default date for the date of birth.

If a user does not enter their date of birth then the database filed is just left empty and not used within the forum system.

Sounds like as you say, that you setup a default date or birth when you did an import into the database.

I had about 20 members with the same date 1/1/1900, all were members that were never activated. I ran the remove members that were never activated function and that cleared oust most of them.
