All NewsPad does is pass the email to the SMTP server, it is the SMTP server that sends the email and has allot to do with emails being rejected.
You need to ensure that the SMTP server has reverse DNS setup and to improve the changes of your email getting through you should also setup an SPF Record on your DNS server and if your mail server supports it a 'domain key'.
Other things that are worth considering are how spam filters work. Certain keywords and the amount of HTML all add to a spam weighting when being scanned by spam filters.

Hey Bruce it turns out that as I was testing my custom emails using the newspad email component, the messages i was sending had no real subject and body. thus gmail and hotmail treated it as spam and rejected it.
when i finally integrated the actual subject and content of body the mails got thru.
thanks for the reply and suggestions.
