hey folks.

havent gotten a chance to set v7 up yet. is there an option for users to get the Validation Email sent to them again?

i find that users often claim they didnt get it, or they miss it, and then i have to manually check their email.

thanks...

sn

I would also like to know the answer to this question as I have a similiar problem in my forums.  Also, it seems as if people with hotmail or yahoo emails are not receiving the activation emails.

I Have a feeling that hotmail and yahoo have implemented some kind of Spam gaurd against sites they regard as spam, which is obviously not the case in our situation....

anyway - if anyone still has an answer to the above question - pls feel free to answer :)

thanks

I am thinking of adding some function for user to be able to get the reactivation email sent to them, maybe it could be a link on the login page or something, if you have any ideas where it sould be located then let me know.

I find that many free email services like yahoo and hotmail tend to reject emails that are created by scripts on web sites, to prevent all the buonced back emails from this site I have now setup this forum to not allow people to register with hotmail or yahoo email address.

I've had it like it now for quite some months and I now hardly get any emails bouncing back anymore from this forum, also I have not had anyone complaining that they can not sign up becuase they don't have another email address.

Thanks, Borg, that would be great.

i think the best place for it is either on the login page, as you said, or the main page, like in this forum: http://forums.invisionpower.com - http://forums.invisionpower.com

regarding the mail bouncing, i agree, thats probably the way to go. i'm surprised that no one has complained though, it seems that 90% of the subscribers to me forums (email compulsary) are with Hotmail or similar local free email hosts. thats might be the way to go, as for now, i have to go in and manually activate members with these types of emails... quite annoying!

thanks buddy.
