Oi!

Well i've been modifyin' the emoticon include so that :)  could be used instead of ... Now all is good apart from the fact that there must be some case conversion somewhere which I can't find (really searched hard ... functions include and such too) which breaks the emoticon codes when for example :dance: is used the ':D' is used although the :dance: is in lowercase :(

Now is there somewhere I can find that piece of code cuz it is driving me insane at the moment

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

thcx in advance!

I wouldn't know how to help as I don't know what you are on about.

well I changed the emoticoncodes to codes without the brackets so f.ex. '[ :) ]' is changed to ':)' and '[:D]' is changed to ':D'

now I got for example the emoticoncode ':dance:' which conflicts with the ':D' code although the 'd' in :dance: is lowercase and nog uppercase like the 'd' in ':D'

So somewhere there must be a case conversion which makes it possible that ':d' & ':D' are equal but I can't find it anywhere

hope that clarifies my problem a bit

:)

The convertion is done in the functions_format_post.asp file here:-

'If emoticons are on then change the emotion symbols for the path to the relative smiley icon
 If blnEmoticons = True Then
  'Loop through the emoticons array
  For intLoop = 1 to UBound(saryEmoticons)
   strMessage = Replace(strMessage, saryEmoticons(intLoop,2), "<img border=""0"" src=""" & saryEmoticons(intLoop,3) & """>", 1, -1, 1)
  Next
 End If

It uses the ASP replace function but is set to not be case sesitive, if you wish it to be case sesitive then you must change it to a binary compare instead of a text compare.
