Hi all,

Is there a way in which I can have the Forum Banner Image change based upon the skin you choose? Serveral of my skins do not go good with the main forum banner that I have so I wanted to design one that could go good with the skin.

Is it possible to load the forum banner up as a option in the skin css file?

It would depend on how you are selecting the skins - if you are using Scottys skin changer, then I suppose it would be possible to add some lines that say if that skin is picked, then display this forum image

If you are using his mod, then he would be the best one to answer that

Hi,

I planned to add this as a new feature, just not got the time to add it (plus its hard to gauge the install base / interest in the mods)

I will try to add this in as it shouldn't take long - but will most likely be at weekend when I get some free time. Please feel free to recommend other improvements to any of the mods, or even new mods that I could create*

In the mean time my tutorial on http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/tips/look/change-banner-for-forums.asp" rel="no follow - how to change the Banner for Forums could be quickly and easily adapted by changing the Forum ID to the Skin ID.

(* I try to stick to doing mods that would either be helpful for alot of people or ones I've built for my self - as a posed to doing custom work for individuals)

That's fair enough Scotty - I know you work very hard on developing these modifications that we all have used, and can I please suggest to others as well, that if you have not done so, perhaps you would consider making a voluntary donation to Scotty who has worked very hard on producing these mods, and does so at the expense of his own free time

Hi Scotty,

Thanks for the information, that would be a great mod update. I will keep my eyes out for a new update.

I had checked out the http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/tips/look/change-banner-for-forums.asp" rel="no follow - how to change the Banner for Forums   to see if it would allow that but I wasnt sure how but I may be able to take that.

We will see in the mean time thanks for all your hard work

Simply follow the tutorial but change "intForumID" to "intS2HLoggedInUserSkin" when you replace the header image like so:

<% strTitleImage = HeaderImage(intS2HLoggedInUserSkin,strTitleImage) %>

Also, when entering the banners for each skin, enter the Skins ID instead of the forums ID, below in red is the Skins ID in the "s2h_skinfile.asp" file

saryS2HSiteSkins(1,1) = "Default"

I have now updated the mod to support this.

You can download it on the http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/mods/multiskin-selection/" rel="nofollow - Multiskin Selection page.

Also I've done a http://www.s2h.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=137" rel="nofollow - tutorial on how to upgrade to V3 on my forum.

Scotty - does this work for MySQL version of the software, or only SQL Server?
I only ask because someone who I have been working with has MySQL database, and although the skin files work, I have not ran the update file to add the new database tables

scotty does your banner changing mod still work with the VERY latest forum  - what is it, 9.55 I think?
I've played with it on 9.02 or whatever we have, but wish to use it when we update (SOON, I hope.)
I simply LOVE that idea.
(I'M almost to the point of wanting to HIRE someone to check through our existing files for changes, then applying those changes to the latest software - I"m so disorganized and short on time.)

I've used a couple of mods, I think they are YOUR mods, already and they work very nicely.

TWS:

The http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/mods/multiskin-selection/" rel="nofollow - Multiskin Selection mod will work with any database as you can use Cookies only (no database storage), but I haven't made a script to set up the database for MySQL, neither have I tested it on MySQL.

It should work if you add a field to the tblAuthor table I believe called "mod_skin" as an "int" type for MySQL. (If needed I'll check  on details later - bit tired at mo Pinch) - I cant forsee any problems it would have with MySQL as the database part is very minimal - but let me any problems/error messages and I'll look at fixing them.

billd3:

The banner changing is part of the latest version of the Multiskin Selection mod which supports the latest version of Web Wiz Forums. The tutorial for a banner per forum should with any V9.xx. But you may need to reapply it with each update (just check the Version History of WWF to see if the files you edited have changed).

If you need help integrating my mods then feel free to post your questions in the relevent threads on here or on my http://www.s2h.co.uk/forum/default.asp" rel="nofollow - own forum . (My forums prob best if you want to merge 2 'incompatible' mods of mine together)

Also if any of the mods you wish to use are not up to date (check the mods page for supported versions) then post on my forum and I'll update it as soon as I get time. (same goes for anybody else)

For easy of upgrading, on my own forum which is heavily modifed, I have moved as much as I can outside of the forum files into my own includes which makes re-appling alot simplier.

Hi All,
I  am a new webwiz forum admin and unfortunately, i couldn't change my forum's logo instead of webwiz logo.

I added my web site logo to forum images folder and then defined logo's address on forum banner image in skin.

As a result, my new logo was added at control panel area but was't added to Forum pages.

If you can help me, thank you very much.

Best Regards

This thread is quite old now, and mostly relates to a modification I created for the forum ( http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/mods/multiskin-selection/" rel="nofollow - Multiskin Selection ).

Can you tell me which forum version you are using and if you are using my http://www.s2h.co.uk/wwf/mods/multiskin-selection/" rel="nofollow - Multiskin Selection ?
