Hello All,

I am looking forward to get my self a copy of dreamweaver CS4. I've been using Aptana IDE for all my work because it offers extra coding features. But now I am curious to switch to DW. If anyone using DW CS4 can explain more about its new skin and features here? I would much appreciate it. Thanks

There are so many new features marsha - where would you want to start? The best way though would be to review Adobe's site itself and plough through the changes and modifications CS4 brings to web development, but here are some links that may help

I’ve been using dreamweaver CS4 and much satisfied with its user friendliness and the features like Live View and Code Navigator. It does php and .net although I think there are other programs that handle .net better. You can even manipulate pixel-level designs or craft complex code. DW is just a tool, and like any other tool, if you wield it badly, you'll get bad results, but if you know what you’re doing, then the results will be worth it
Just came across this http://www.ecostsoftware.com/adobe/adobe-dreamweaver-cs4-win_p4110 which I think will help you more to increase your knowledge.

My personal opinion is very positive and I do occasionally jump into CS3 to use some extensions that aren’t CS4 compatible yet. But 90% of my time is spent in CS4 and the migration to CS4 from CS3 took very little time. The new workspace layout is much more efficient and Live View is an excellent addition. If I was rating on a scale, I would give Dreamweaver CS4 high marks.

I have a question: Can I copy in MS Word 2008 and paste into DW CS4 and get it to work properly?

Dreamweaver CS3 for Windows brought in the idea of different program layouts depending upon what type of Web designer or developer you were. Dreamweaver CS4 takes that to a new level. There are 8 default layouts including: App Developer, App Developer Plus, Classic, Coder, Coder Plus, Designer, Designer Compact, and Dual Screen. And if that's not enough, you can now define your own, or simply modify an existing one to match exactly what you need it to do. And it no longer matters if you're on a Mac or not - these features are in both Windows and Macintosh versions of Dreamweaver CS4.
