Ηi Dear administrator,

My colleague in our company who was operating the web wiz forum died 2 weeks ago.
I searched and i found where are the database and the forum files.
The version we have is 7.7a in sql server 2000.
I dont know the administrator password in the forum and also in the database but i think i can find in database and not in the forum.
Can you tell me if there is any away to reset the administrator's password in the forum?
And can you tell me if i can upgrade the version of the forum to 9x you have with the same database?

Thanks in advance
Dimitris

Version 7.7a is really really old now

Unfortunately you are faced with a bit of a dilemma inasmuch as although you say your colleague sadly passed away a few weeks ago, I think you will find for legal reasons that you need to obtain the proper authorisations from whomever to even be able to take over the running of his forum

You should perhaps contact Support Department here, but I'm not sure if they could even assist you with this

7.7a is about 6 years old and has been out of support for about 4 years now.

Luckily though the way passwords are stored has not changed and the page below will tell you how to reset the admins password in the database:-

I would also recommend looking at upgrading the the latest 9.56 version as there are many security and performance improvements as well as new features.
