The error means that your email settings are incorrect in the configuration page in the admin area.

Thanks!

CDOSYS (Pick Up - Used for localhost) - Does not work
CDOSYS - Work correctly

It is strange, as SQL a server and WEB servers are installed on one computer

The first option you list using CDOSYS Pickup is a special setup used mainly by those using Exchange Server or on some occasions Windows IIS SMTP installed on the localhost. Instead of sending the email it stores the file containing the email in the 'c:\inetpub\mailroot\pickup' directory. The Microsoft SMTP server will then monitor this directory to be able to relay on the email.

For most people you would not select this option even if the mail server is installed locally. You would instead choose other option of CDOSYS and put in 'locahost' as the SMTP server.

Thanks!
I yet have not bothered you?

The more I study your product - the more it is pleasant to me Smile

next step - next error:

error '8004020f'
/NewsPad/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 242

Please, check up, whether is the reason of this presence of a sign on a point (.) in a name of the address of mail, i.e. - mailto:name1.name2@domain_name" rel="nofollow - name1.name2@domain_name (see, for example, in my profile)

Thanks!

Having a dot in the email address will make no difference it will still send the email as dots in email address are very common.

Check your email settings are correct in the admin area. If you require authentication to send emails then this will also need to be included in the username and password field.

At me it is installed Microsoft Exchange 2007

SMTP is set up so, that

1. Anonymous access is resolved only (that passwords would not select)

2. Senders of mail can be only "internal" users - members of the domain, thus the addressee can be any

3. If senders - "external" users addressees can be only " "internal" - i.e. " Open Relay " - it is forbidden (that my server was not a source of "spam")

It seems to me, that at such configuration not probably to use SMTP "directly" for sending letters to the Internet, only to "internal" users ?

However "SQL Server Agent" and "Microsoft Outlook 2007" it is adjusted and sends letters to the Internet on behalf of account "Administrator". Probably it does not use SMTP "directly" ?

Whether it is possible to realize other mechanism (not SMTP) interactions ASP-applications with Exchange Server ?
