I purchased the newest version today and will be installing it next week.  I was disappointed to see that the limited array of emoticoms available here on the forum is pretty much the same as that of my 7.9 version which I've used since 2004.  Any chance of significantly increasing the number of emoticoms?  Other widely used forum software seems to have quite a lot of them, many of them quite imaginative and funny.  Any chance of that happening with Web Wiz?

It is on the 'todo' list when there is time.

At the moment focusing on completing the Blog Tools for version 10.

Scotty to me it just seem like everything is easy for you! I mean the mods, figuring out all this.
What can I say - Bravo

I've added smilies to ours, however, you still have to manually drag the window larger - no matter what I do, it pops up too small.
But ADDING them is pretty easy....

If you want to increase the size of the Emoticons window you can do so by editing the "RTE_toolbar_inc.asp" and "RTE_quick_reply_toolbar_inc.asp" files in the "includes" folder

On line 117 of RTE_toolbar_inc.asp (Full Reply)

On line 62 of RTE_quick_reply_toolbar_inc.asp (Quick Reply, obviously)

If blnEmoticons Then Response.Write("<img src=""" & strImagePath & "post_button_smiley.gif"" onclick=""winOpener(\'RTE_popup_emoticons.asp" & strQsSID1 & "\',\'emot\',0,1,450,350)"" title=""" & strTxtEmoticons & """ class=""WebWizRTEbutton"" onmouseover=""overIcon(this)"" onmouseout=""outIcon(this)"" />")

Red I think is width, green I think is height - if not then its the other way round.

Yeah, it all does come pretty easily to me - though I have been using and modifying it for over 6 years so I've become very familiar to the way it works. And thanks for the compliments.

I just thought this would also be a good time to show some love for Scotty.. I'm not on V9, as I don't like it and still see it as risky and having problems and can't risk the upgrade.. But I have always used pretty much every mod Scotty has done on my V8 forums and they are awesome and easily implemented, you always get good support from Scotty as well, so yeah cheers fella and you are the man

The easiest way instead of actually increasing the window size (perhaps) is instead of
0,1,450,350

Change the leading zero to a 1 so it reads
1,1,450,350

This will maintain the window popup size but give you the options of scroll bars and maximization of the window
Sorry to butt in Scotty Wink

Quite frankly, I like this reply best.  The tutorial is beyond a layman like me.  V-Bulletin has literally hundreds of cool and imaginative emoticons.  I'd like to see Web Wiz "get with the program" here.

I've created a Emoticons Improvement Pack Number 2 which will be released shortly, but as a preview, see image below:

As soon as I get a chance I'll post the link here. I have tested it however, and all looks good

Thanks Putz - I will develop several packages but this one was the under 18 category LOL
The link will be active tomorrow everyone

But it has been tested and is operational on 9.56a versions (and should be suitable for versions 9.50 and above)

This is been changed for the next release (9.60) as there are new emoticons added. The Emoticons window will now autoscroll allowing you to use as many emoticons as you like without altering the window size.

Wonderful! Ideas on 9.60 as far as timing, is this mostly bug fixes? (not that I've SEEN any bugs!)

Version 9.60 main new feature will be an online install/update wizard.

Instead of having multiple downloads for different database types with a manual installation you have one zip file to download, you then upload the files and a wizard auto runs to where you select the database type, test the database connection, and it then either does a fresh install or upgrade depending on the options you select.

The wizard will include being able to do database upgrades from version 7.x and 8.x of web wiz forums.

It should make installing and updating the software much simpler.

I just contact our host ! LOL!
My biggest thing is I've got to fully document the MODs I've made, and the mods installed.
Once that is done, the rest isn't bad at all. But the CSS mods, the donation button and additional text, the breadcrumbs at the BOTTOM of the forum pages, etc. - that's all stuff that I've added or changed and it does add complexity, so an auto-update isn't possible.
