I updated my access forum and then installed the mysql forum on a new folder. I then did an import of all the users. it worked and grabbed all 2700 + users but they cannot logon using thier username/password combo. is the password different in the mysql db. is there a way to get the 2700 users into the new mysql db. i would also like to get all the post for the last six months into the new mySql db. Are the tables set up the same so that i can import data from the access db to the mySql db.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What you are trying will not work due to mySQL using a different non relational schema, different data types, and the auto numbering.

Moving from Access to SQL Server is possible though and Web Wiz Forums works great on the free SQL Server Express 2005 version.

To upsize the database from Access to SQL Server Express 2005 you can use the upsize tool in Access to migrate your entire database and the data across to SQL Server.

I would suggest using SQL Server 2008 but the Access upsize wizard does not yet work with the 2008 version.
