I have just updated the software (6.34 > 7.0 > 9.54), all seems well except one thing; I cannot create a new topic.

When you submit a new topic it actually gets posted as a reply to the most recent thread in the forum.

I've checked the database permissions, everyone should have permission to modify and execute.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Either you have a corrupted file in your installation or the database upgrade did not go correctly.

I used the database (Access 2000) migration tool to convert from 6.24 to 7.xx, everything seemed to go well, no error messages. ASP page to convert 7.xx to 9.54 using the asp upgrade page also reported all was well.

As suggestions on how to narrow it down?

Fist try reuploading the 9.54 files again in case a corrupted file from the FTP upload processes has coursed the problem.

If that doesn't work trying going back to your original 6.24 and try the database migration and upgrade again and see if hat fixes the issue. You should also make sure that at each stage that you compact and repair the Access database before moving to the next stage as this does help with Access.

Good info, thanks very much Bruce.

I did not compact and repair the Access database at each phase so I'll be sure to try that route. I will also try another version of WWF, no issues going to 9.56 I imagine?

Might take me a week or so to get to this...off sailing in the Atlantic Ocean...appreciate the help!

Cheers
