I'm new to this forum thing, but i got my forum setup on brinkster, logged in as Administrator, and i got the message HTTP 500 Internal server error.

Is this me, or is it the host?

Cheers.

Turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE and you will get what the error is.

Also follow the documentation that comes with the forum on setting it up on Brinkster (Web Wiz Forums will only work with the free accounts from Brinkster, becuase of their server setup it won't work on the paid for Brinkster accounts).

Not true ! I have a paid account on brinkster and the forum works just fine.

I don't use the paid brinkster, and when HTTP thingy is turned off, I get:

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0401'

Expected end of statement

/mohwg/db/common.asp, line 174

Virtual path to database

Earlier on it was a different message, trying to find out how it got changed.
Cheers.

Ok, looked at me MSN chat logs and found this:

'80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

           /mohwg/db/common.asp, line 403

Any ideas to this?

Cheers.

Put your database in the /db directory. This error means you need write permissions on the database.

Looks like your account on Brinkster was set up incorrectly, this does happen with them.

You'll have to sign up for a new account as I believe they don't offer support on their free accounts.
