Is there a max dimension size for image upload?

I just uploaded a 1280 x 960 image to my forum, but it seems to want to size it to 128 x 960, and won't let me put in the extra 0.

I think it would be nice to allow any image size to be uploaded, but do the auto resized feature, where the user can click on the bar to see the full size image.

For example;

Any thoughts?

EDIT - Seems to be an issue with Google Chrome.  FireFox lets me insert the 1280 x 960 image, but does look awful, as it creates a horizontal scroll, which isn't obvious that it's there.

Firefox allowed me to upload 2272x1704 412KB image file no issues - apart from the huge scrolling LOL but yes I had the same error on Google Chrome

To resize images you need to have a component like AspJPEG installed on the server.

There are plans to bring out a version of Web Wiz Forums that can use AspJPEG to resize images, unfortunately very few web hosts have this component installed on their servers.

google chrome sure seems to have a lot of issues (I mean besides the security issues it has suffered)
Many times once complaints are sorted out, it seems to come down to the browser, and that one is the one I see most often in my rounds of tech support.

What about adding that ability for the forums that run on the webwiz host servers? We could sure use it for our less savvy users!!

AspJPEG is already installed on our servers and is available to customers.

We are hoping (time permitting) that support for resizing images using AspJPEG will be part of version 10 when it is first released, if not it will certainly be added at some stage.

Guess I was thinking/meaning more of the addition to the forum software - I figured you ran it there so mentioned your hosting services ;-)

That would be a wonder addition to the software. So many folks can take a photo with their phone or camera but are really not with it when they need to resize it either for screen size or file size (we restrict to 200K for file size - that's a good plenty for a photo on a computer monitor, IMO)

It is a very good idea...

I did some modifications in my code to allow uploads via ImageShack... but the users have to take some more steps to post the photos in the forum. Not hard, but not as easy as a built in script with the resize option.  But the advantage is that you doesn´t spend disk space.

Anyway... would be very good to have a fast, easy, ajax based way, to users to upload photos.

I just wanted to point out that in older versions(I think 7.x) the problem was that the textbox had a max size of 3 characters and width or height of over 999 pixels did not fit.

After changing it to 4, it worked for me.

I understand that this is REALLY old news though. It has been fixed.
