Hi ,

I am using web wiz forums and i am integrating RTE inorder to enhance the editor.
I extracted the file in  RTE folder onto  /forum/includes/ directory which contains my file for textarea.
 I have the textarea for the forum in a file named /forum/includes/message_form_inc.asp in which i added <!--#include file="RTE_editor_inc.asp" -->
I have the body tag in /forum/includes/header.asp  in which i added OnLoad="initialiseWebWizRTE();"

Now when i click on New Topic I get following error

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0411'

Name redefined

/forum/includes/RTE_configuration/RTE_setup.asp, line 119

Const strUploadComponent = "AspUpload"	'Persits AspUpload 3.x or above (includes progess bar) - http://www.aspupload.com

Please help

The Web Wiz Rich text Editor (RTE) is already integrated into Web Wiz Forums you don't need to integrate it yourself.

Replace the web wiz forums files with the original files and if you are not seeing an RTE area to write your posts in make sure that you have enabled the WYSIWYG Editor from both the admin area and for your member profile.

There would be lots of files all over the place that need to be swapped back with the forum files.

What you will need to do is delete all the files except your uploads folder and then reinstall the forum again.

Hi Bruce,

In the file common.asp there are 2 includes
<!-- #include file="language_files/language_file_inc.asp" -->
<!-- #include file="language_files/RTE_language_file_inc.asp" -->

In both the includes this variable is present Const strTxtFileName = "File Name" which was giving error. So i commented the variable in language_file_inc.asp. The editor became visible after that.

Now my problem is that the toolbar seems to be vertical. How do i make it horizontal and neatly aligned as the previous toolbar.

You are going to get loads of issues as the version of the RTE in the forum is heavily modified version of the latest Web Wiz RTE to give tighter integration with Web Wiz Forums.

By placing the RTE files in the forum you did you have overwritten many, many, forum files and to try and workout which ones will take days and you will keep coming back here with error after error.

What you need to do to ensure that your forum runs reliably and securely is to delete your forums files, just leaving the database and uploads folder and then reinstall the forum files again.
