I'm using version 8.04 (jeah, I know I should update) and out of the blue the following error is showed when someone is trying to post a message. Luckily the message itself is posted, but ofcourse it's not nice. Anybody any idea what went wrong? I didn't change anything (afaik).

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while sending an email.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Error details:-
CDO.Message.1
The transport failed to connect to the server.

This error occurs if the mail server can not be connected to when sending email notifications when someone posts.

If you have not changed any settings then it means the mail server is down at that present time and if it persists you should contact your hosting company.

If you upgrade to the latest version 9.x then the user will see this error message if the mail server goes down again.
