Hi all,

I have installed the free edition for testing purposes and am loving it. The problem I have is that it keeps asking for my admin password every time I change options within the Admin Pages. Also, when logged in as administrator, I often get access denied errors when doing simple things like creating a new user or changing security settings.

The icons at the top show that I am an admin and it's getting a little frustrating.

I am running on IIS6 with MySQL v5 - seems to work ok locally, although that also has the odd moment when it asks for a password!

Is there something I am missing?

Sounds like an issue with the web server holding the ASP session.

You should make sure that the website that the forum is running in has a single IIS worker process (web garden) set in it's application pool.

Also make sure that the application pool is not set to recycle to often, best to do it once a day at 5am or some other time your forum is quite.

If you can't get your host to fix the issue with the server you can also edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file in notepad and set the forum to use the database to store sessions, although this will give a performance hit.
