Ok I was testing out the import feature to combined the databases and after i entered mysql information i hit enter and it errored saying:

Error messages:-
Error connecting to database,
Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

so i looked at the source and noticed the mysql drive my host uses is named differently
changed it to match now that works but now i am getting a different error

a type mismatch on line 524
which is a "End Function" command

any thoughts?

Change line 261 to the following to fix the error:-

lngTotalRecords = CLng(rsImport("TotalRecords"))

Yes jasjmorris this is a known issue found during testing in the lab a few weeks ago, so not mentioned on the forums, but has been fixed for the next release.

edizz this is the generic member import tool and not a generic topic import tool. A generic topic import tool would be almost an impossibility as every forum will use a different schema and store different data in different ways.
