You can change the width by altering the table sizes in the CSS file for the skin you are using. Change the values for classes such as ".basicTable" and ".tableBorder", as well as others.
Alternatively, you could add a table to the "includes/header.asp" and "includes/footer.asp" files to wrap around the forum and set the width on that table.
