Hi guys,
I've just tried installing 9.61 and received this error after it said the forum was successfully installed and I tried to access the forum homepage.
Server Error in Forum Application An error initialising Global Variables from database. Please contact the forum administrator.
Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_getForumConfigurationData()_read_global_variables File Name:- global_variables_inc.asp
Error details:- Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Invalid object name 'forumConfiguration'.

I've tried installing it twice and received this message both times. It it helps, I'm using XP SP3 and SQL2000.
Any ideas?

It looks like you are installing it with a different table prefix. Try leaving the table prefix as the default tbl and see if that allows it to be installed correctly.
Also make sure when the database is being setup that no error are listed, if there are then will need to know what they are.

Hi,
There weren't any errors during the install. I only received the error when I tried to access the homepage.
I don't want to use the default 'tbl' prefix, as I use that for my system already, and I'd like to keep them separate. Surely it works with a different prefix, otherwise why offer the option?
Tks, Craig

It should work with a different table prefix but as it is the only thing that I can see differs from the default install it's the only thing can suggest to try differently.
Try looking inside your database and see if the tables have been setup with the new table prefix you are using.

I've resolved the issue. I left the DB owner to the default "DBO" - I actually have a different user set as the owner, but there must have been a permissions problem using it. Odd.
Tks, Craig
