Subject: Admin Login

I'm trying to do a new install of NewsPad (SQL database) and can't get logged into the admin page. I've followed the install instructions explicitly with no errors in the process but keep getting the same login error ( see below) using the Administrator/letmein credentials. It brings up the splash screen ( .../ http://www.interiormatters.biz/newspad/web_wiz_newspad.asp" rel="nofollow - web_wiz_newspad.asp ) but as soon as I continue it errors. I've done two reinstalls with the same results and verified that cookies are enabled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like your website has problems holding ASP sessions, and each time the session is dropped you are logged out.

This can happen if there are problems with the website, you are using load balanced web servers, or you are using multiple worker processes (web farm) for the website application pool.

Not at all.

I have said what the issue is and given some examples of what would course ASP sessions to be dropped.

I don't know if you manage the server yourself of your technical skills. if you use a web host then you just let them know.

if you are running the server yourself and need to know how you can check any of the issues I mention then just ask, but would need to know what OS you are using?

Most will be found by looking in the IIS Manager at the application pool that serves the website that you have installed NewsPad on. However without knowing the OS it would be hard to give you a step by step guide on where to look.

Would also need to know if you are using load balanced web servers.

Thanks for the follow up... NewsPad is installed (along with MS SQL database) on a Network Solutions shared windows hosting package.

I've been down this road before...mention to NS support that there is an issue with running some 3rd party scripts and the response is always to talk with the developer. If it's a server issue then it's not worth the time involved to figure this one out.

Anyway I appreciate your input...

May I suggest that you consider a hosting solution http://www.webwiz.net?AID=203" rel="nofollow - with web wiz if you want to at some time cross over. I say this because you will get such better support I think, and the products will always run on this hosting server Wink, not that they have any problems normally on most hosts, but web wiz is good
