I have an issue setting folder permissions on my windows host....so I cannot complete the installation - however - IF I could create the DB manually (easy I hear you say - I also have to write the real values to the database/database_settings.asp) then how can I skip the installation? i.e. what files to modify and/or delete so that I don't get the installation script/windows running everytime?

It would be extremely difficult.

It would be much easier setting the required permissions which would take any server admin only a couple of minutes to do. If you are using a web host then they should give you some way to change permissions through the control panel. If they don't then maybe time to look for a better host.

Ok - thanks. I found the folder permissions thing in my hosting control panel - made the changes and now all OK!!
