Hello, I've downloaded web wiz forum and when i trie to install my database access it always says to read, write and modify permissions on database directory i really dont know what to do, i use vista . |

It is very much the same on Vista just slightly different screens. After you click the 'Add' button at stage 5 you get a different screen with an 'Advanced...' button at the bottom, click this followed by 'Find Now' to get a list of OS users. The rest of it is much the same.

You need to have read, write, and modify permissions on the database folder. It looks like at the moment (as I don't speak Spanish) that you are missing the modify and write permissions for your IUSR account.

Are you trying to run the database on your local machine or do you mean on a server? example: www.mywebsite.com If you mean you have uploaded the files to a server, then you need to give read and write permissions on your database folder I'm only jumping in here because I think that is what you mean, but I may be wrong ------------- http://www.123simples.com/" rel="nofollow - Visit 123 Simples Web Design |

I'll try to explain in English as I'm not very good with Portuguese language. Your servers TELEPAC.PT (which I assume are your service provider) should be able to assist you When you have uploaded the forum software to your server, you must be able to go into your server control panel, and then look in the forum directory, and find the folder named database. Change the permissions on that folder to read and write, and then start the installation file which should come up when you try to run the forum for the first time Quando você transferiu arquivos pela rede o software do fórum a seu usuário, você deve poder entrar em seu painel de controle do usuário, e olha então no diretório do fórum, e encontra o dobrador nomeado base de dados. lol. MrTWS i really like your portuguese  , lol.Well since I am Brazillian i can try to help with that. I am not sure if i can write in portuguese here or if it is better to do it via PM, I will write in portuguese a correction of your translation so mazarelo can understand what he needs to do. mazarelo, o MrTWS tentou fazer uma tradução da explicação dele, como voce disse que é novo nisso achei que poderia ficar um pouco complicado para voce entender o texto dele, então me prontifiquei a fazer uma correção da tradução para que voce pudesse entender o que ele disse ok? Quando voce transferiu os arquivos do forum para o seu servidor, voce deve ir no seu painel de controle e olhar o diretorio do forum procurando por um diretorio chamado "database". Ao encontrá-lo as permissões do mesmo devem ser mudadas para ler e escrever e só depois disso vpce deve rodar o arquivo de instalação que é executado assim que voce tenta entrar no forum pela primeira vez. |
