I have installed the newspad, can log into newspad admin and get the nag screen but when I click
the Continue to NewsPad Admin Control Panel I get the following error

"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-4.1.22-community-nt]Build WHERE -> insert_fields() failed.

/newspad/functions/functions_common.asp, line 438"

I haven't changed anything in the code, help appreciated, thank you

The mySQL version of NewsPad will presently only run with certain myODBC drivers due to changes in the driver that breaks newspad giving the error that you have.

The page below gives the server requirements:-

The error is because you need a specific myODBC driver when using the mySQL version. The myODBC driver must be between 3.51.12 to 3.51.24

If you are using a myODBC driver that doesn't match that above you get the error you mention.

I would suggest using the Access or SQL Server versions, until NewsPad version 2 is released, probably next year sometime. However, as mySQL doesn't work well with ASP the mySQL version may be dropped altogether.

Is that why the mySQL is not for downloading anymore?
I was planning to create a newsletter for a website with mySQL (downloaded it 2 weeks ago) but have not installed it.
Waiting for version 2 is a option, but can i use the MsAcces savely and do a conversion from 1.03 MsAcces to MySQL in the future?
