I've just recieved an email from a customer complaining that their users are recieving bad emails from the forum. All emails arrive as HTML shown as plaintext, the result being that the user is shown all the HTML-tags as well.
We are using JMail4 to send out emails, but I cannot find any option in the online documentation to make the mailer autogenerate a plaintext body from a HTML body.
What options do we have to ensure that our customers users always recieve a readable email whether or not their email program is set up to display HTML mails?
Regards, Mireigi

Web Wiz Forums will send out HTML formatted emails in HTML format and those that are in plain text as plain text.
There should be no issue with this as the was emails are sent has not changed for around 5 years.
If you continue having problems try re-installing the latest version and see if that fixes the issue as you may have a corrupted file.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The problem is not that mails are not sent as HTML or plain text.
The problem is that a mail sent as HTML does not include a plain text version for those recipients that cannot view HTML mails.

Those emails that can be sent in plain text are, like forgotten passwords, email other members etc.
Those emails that need to be set as HTML such as post notifications are sent as HTML only as the post would be HTML.
This is how the email system has worked for around 9 years now without anyone having issues with it.
To change the system would be difficult as you would need to look at how to strip the HTML from posts, etc. while still retaining the required information in a readable format.
