Hi - currently I use the free version of 9.x forums. I want to allow users to upload pictures etc. so O probably need the paid for version right? - Question - if/when I purchase a license what is the "upgrade" process? is there somewhere to enter a license key or is it s start again scenario?

The license key would be entered into the online Admin area. You do not need to reinstall the software.
