Nowadays, newspapers are emphasising on cyber security matters. In regard, an agreement between Microsoft and different big nations has been reported that would make them capable to control online contents of masses by using security codes of all Microsoft windows. So, that govt can keep an eye over online contents of their public. Can this system work to locate any means of terrorism including cyber crimes or would it violate the right of freedom?

plz let me know your answer in atleast 6-7 lines...   thank u

well, i guess something has to be done obviously about the threat, but again maybe this is just propoganda to make us more scared of the terrorists out there, so that we support their military actions more

i agree with internet filtering and monitoring but it should be completely anoymous.. the internet traffic is strictly monitored and filterd in saudi arabia but the internet service by ISP's is provided complete anoymously.. u r not even asked ur name.. just go to dealer.. get a suscribtion and enjoy online,...

secondly most of the nations screaming the most about online security, monitoring and stuff the ones who in past were most screaming for keeping the internet a
"free world"...they were not intrested in deining policies on the contents which can be elivere on the internet from their country boundries..

AS a result website of all kinds have taken place.. espeially the one promoting hatred and rascism again religions and people...

as well as the website which imposter , spread propoganda or false information..

btw.. it is really appreciateable that all incoming internet traffic in saudi arabia is also scanned and filter for viruses thats why virus releated incidents to internet users and business r rare heard

but their nonsense filtering of certain website is f***ing stupid

Filtering the internet is just a stupid idea. It is far to costly (if not done automatically) and will inevitably filter the wrong things. A simple anti-child pornography site to raise awareness and get rid of those sick bastards would most likely end up triggering key words and get banned. That can easily be overcome though through various methods however.

Elsewhere, the widespread availability of strong encrytption would prevent governments from monitoring the real serious people. They would only be able to get info from the losers, nutcases, crackpots, and foolish terrorist wannabes who don't have the brains to protect themselves. These people are no real threat anyways. The real threat comes from organized, intelligent people who are serious about killing us. They will not make silly mistakes like that.

I remember years ago one fellow always posting news bulletins that were encrypted. He also posted the keys to access them - every key was carefully crafted with keywords that would trigger NSA alerts. e.g. "I sent the guns so that you can assassinate the president of the attack dog kennel. Bomb him with c4 if missiles or anti-tank rockets explode the white house or ak-47's eat pickled plutonium covered in semtex sauce."

Other general access sites like racist sites, etc., although evil, should not be banned. Whether or not I agree is not the issue. They just need to be monitored. Not the rest of us. However, that monitoring should be carried out wherever they are physically located. If the problem spills over, foreign governments should simply make their concerns know to the domestic government for that case.

Politics sucks.
