Only members with sufficient permission can access this page.

A security error has occurred with authentication.

Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser, you are not using a saved or cached copy of the page, and your Firewall/Proxy settings are not hiding or masking your IP address.

This is occurring when I try to update anything in my profile or other profiles. When I try to log-in to the admin interface, I'm getting this:

The Security Code entered did not match that displayed.
A new Security Code has been generated.

Nothing has changed on my server or SQL server, and this was working yesterday. I tried logging-in from a different computer on a different Internet connection, and got the same results. This leads me to believe that there's something wrong with my account or with the server. I bounced the web server (Win 2003 + IIS) and get the same results.

Any clues where I should look next?

Thank you

I just used Winmerge to update the forum to the latest release and still have the same problem.
Everything but the footer, header, style and database config files are the same as the current release.

Have you missed a file? I only ask as you mentioned something similar in a http://forums.webwiz.net/cant-move-a-post-to-a-new-topic_topic28093.html" rel="nofollow - different topic
It's very easy (even using File Comparison Programs) to have missed something

I know we have spoken before via PM but I've mislaid the one that told me your web address Unhappy

I'm absolutely certain that I didn't miss a file (this time SmileSmile). In-fact, I only installed the upgrade because I can't log-in to the admin panel or update profiles. I don't see any errors in the application or system logs on the web server.

However, I haven't checked the SQL server yet... BRB

In-case anyone else has this problem, the resolution was to fix the time on the SQL server. I have a seperate SQL box and the time was off by about 45 mins (slow).

It is now syncronizing with an Internet time source.

If you're using a recent Windows version, you can also use the ntp client that is built into the system. Just execute:

net time /setsntp:pool.ntp.org

With some versions of Windows you can also specify more than one server

net time /setsntp:"0.pool.ntp.org 1.pool.ntp.org 2.pool.ntp.org"
