There are a few great mods out there for Webwiz and I am using one of them and will be using others as I get round to adding them...but the number of mods is low compared to say PHPBB - it would be great oif some clever souls could write mods for:-

  1. Automatically sending members email on their birthday, anniversary
  2. Chatroom add-on
  3. Mass mail add-on
  4. Member list export add-on
  5. Google ads insertion
  6. on to allow easy modification of registration form fields

Most of these are already built into the software or available already

2. A chat room is available from http://www.aspinvision.com/aspchatnow
3. We do our own Mass Email Add-on called Web Wiz NewsPad at www.newspad.com
4. There is a Member Import Tool found in the Admin Area of Web Wiz Forums
5. Edit in notepad the file includes/google_adsense_inc.asp and just add your Adsense ID where indicated in the file
6. This is planed for future releases

As Windows doesn't have Cron-Jobs like you have on Linux such automated emails would be difficult to have fired off without manually having the admin login each day to send them.

What about a modification where guests can click into a section to see the list of topics but if they try to click into a topic a message comes up to say they have to register to view?

Yeah i'm serious. I've seen it on forums before. Also where it comes up where you have viewed your guest limit and need to sign in or sign up in order to view more.

Yes, I see this in some php forums, but not in WWF.

I'd like to have these modifications:
1. In the registration form, It's better to have a confirm email fields.
As you see, most web applications that requires the users to activate their account by email, they have this requirement. It makes sure that the users enter their email correctly.

2. if a new member do not activate their account within 24h, their account will be deleted automatically.
Currently , I have to manually delete unactivated account through Administrator control panel.

Both good ideas fella. The first one you get with many forums like Proboards for example and would be of great use. Your second idea would save plenty of work too having to be done manually but i'd probably put the auto deleting to a week or even a month.

I like the idea of having a confirm email field on registration, that would help a lot...

Auto delete users that don't activate in a certain time is great too, but I believe it can be hard, since windows don't have cron jobs like linux.

Now, my suggestion...

We can have a badge system on WWf, not the group system we have with permissions, but a simple badge system for users with something in common, it would be shown at the signature, or profile, some foruns has it and people use it a lot.

So new signups have to sign into the email account used to sign up and then click on an activation link to complete registration?

No its only asking someone to actually confirm their email address by typing it twice instead of just the once like before
Version 9.67 has it I believe
