The FIRST 10 posters to this thread will receive a free copy of Extenshun Server Module for their board.
http://www.extenshun.com/ - http://www.extenshun.com
There's the product information. Simply put: Extenshun is a desktop client for bulletin boards. It attempts to make browsing a board easier, by putting useful information, in as useful and accessible form as possible.
History: http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...showtopic=50769 - http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...showtopic=50769
Once upon a time, I developed a program called IPB Live. Realizing that locking myself into one board was fool hearty, I decided to rebrand and write backends for all major boards. WWG happens to be the best ASP board available (I used version 6.2x for about a year)
Download the client, free today. http://www.extenshun.com/download.php - http://www.extenshun.com/download.php (link corrected) http://www.extenshun.com/downloads.php -
The Extenshun Server Side Module costs $14.99. I think this is a fair price considering the literally 100s of hours I've spent developing and fine tuning this software.
If you have Invision Board, Vbulletin, phpBB, or Web Wiz Guide forums, you're all set to go.
http://www.extenshun.com/orders.php - http://www.extenshun.com/orders.php
And as the title says, as a "kick off" the first 10 posters will get a free copy.
Gentlemen start your engines....

Ok, I made various changes to the backend.
I did not change the stats code, because it works as it is now, and using your code seems to be just as verbose, if not moreso.
Unless Count(*) is an unsavory command when it comes to performance.
Vbulletin actually uses this as their primary way of getting statistics...so I'm kind of leaning away from that.
There are still 8 copies for the grabbing!

By popular demand, I've added Extenshun Server Lite to the lineup.
This is a free version that has all of the features of the Pro edition, except the Active User list features and Skinning.

Download it today!

He installed it but the script is taking 10+ seconds to execute.
He's going to look at the code for me.
This is weird, I'm doing the same basic query types as my PHP scripts, but even on my test forums of 50 posts it is noticeably slower.
(My php script is much faster then 10 seconds even when I set the latest post number to 2000 )
Mad dog, I'm sending you a PM.

What a great idea!
If there are any copies left I would like to see it in action as I am a fan of both WWG and Vbulletin (John and James both went to my school!)

2 left.
Remember, even if you don't make the cut, you can always download the free version of the Server Module at Extenshun.com
The client, as scott linked to...is free to download. The only thing that actually costs anything is the pro version of the Server Module.
These first 10 posters are receiving the pro version, which normally costs 14.99.

If you’re having troubles with Extenshun being unable to successfully connect to your website at times, it is probably because your site isn’t responding within 5 seconds.
I’ve upped the timeout time to 10 seconds…and uploaded the new version.
You only need to update if you’ve been experiencing problems.
This is more of a “planning ahead” move then a fix, but I wanted to alert you guys.

Those of you who downloaded the Server (pro or lite) version, you should download it again.
Bruce just did a fanstastic job of straightening up my code..it now performs on par with what should be expected!
Thanks again, man.

Apparently some code has changed from 1.0 to 1.1 with the .NET framework.
You need to install version 1.0..not 1.1.
If you have 1.1. and it works, then you have a very weird computer. ;)
Sorry, I shouldn't have assumed.

You can try installing them both at the same time, no guarantees it will execute under the right one. (althought supposedly it is desinged to do this..I just don't know if it will no by default which one to execute under, you might be able to configure it though)
I've already purchased VS.net 2003, so it will be updated soon.

Great idea! Wish I'd thought of that..
Just downloading now. If we can get into the source files we can set it run under 1.0 if we have both installed.
Gotta read up on exactly how though!
Cheers, Andrew

Actually, false alarm.
I believe it will run under 1.1. I left out a dll that it turns out some users need.
The new install package (as of 11 pm eastern, yesterday evening) has everything.
So install whatever version you want.
