Interested to know if the functionality of the forum will be affected or greatly reduce if I find some way to delete the control panel located at the top of the form, which includes the FAQ, Calender,etc. And the login found below. These things i do not need. I wish to have the forum function similar to what is found here http://www.datehookup.com/Forums.aspx" rel="nofollow - http://www.datehookup.com/Forums.aspx .

Before I attempt to modify the forum in that manner, is there any advice or instructions on how to proceed. Thank you.

The top bar just links to forum functions, so it'll not effect the functionality of the forum.
You'll need to modify includes/status_bar_header_inc.asp
